Yannick Brookes serves as the Director of Student Services and Advising at Cardozo School of Law. He comes to Cardozo with many years of legal education administration experience. Brookes was previously employed as the Director of Admissions at the University of Connecticut (UConn) School of Law. He has presented at conferences throughout the country on issues relating to advising first-generation law school students, the value of being an authentic student, and the importance of student engagement in student retention. He sits on the Law School Admission Council’s Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Subcommittee. Additionally, Brookes is the Communications Chairperson for the Planning Committee for the Annual Meeting of Law School Diversity Professionals.
Brookes received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst. Later, he received his law degree from Florida A&M University. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern University. He was born and raised in St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands.
