Professor Mayer joined Cardozo in 2025 from the University of Chicago Law School, where he was a Harry A. Bigelow Teaching Fellow and Lecturer in Law. His research mainly focuses on corporate reorganizations and corporate law. Prior to his fellowship, Mayer was an associate in the business restructuring group at Ropes & Gray, LLP and a law clerk to Justice Barry T. Albin (ret.) of the New Jersey Supreme Court. Mayer received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and his B.A. and M.A. from Johns Hopkins University.
