We believe inclusion is a cornerstone of legal education, and diversity advances the entire legal system and society. We work to overcome inequality, systemic racism and other forms of discrimination. We use the law to fight anti-semitism, LGBTQ+ discrimination and to bring about meaningful criminal justice reforms. Our students and faculty are on the frontlines protecting marginalized groups and individuals.

Cardozo's renowned Intellectual Property Program is home to: The FAME Center for Fashion, Art, Music & Entertainment Law; The Tech Startup Clinic; The Filmmakers Legal Clinic; The Blockchain Project; The Cardozo Data Law Initiative; and the Patent Diversity Project.

Our clinics, field clinics and externships comprise one of the most robust experiential learning programs in the country. 

The Innocence Project, the Civil Rights Clinic, the Freedom Clinic, the Immigration Justice Clinic, the Housing Justice Field clinic put students on the frontline of justice. The Filmmakers Legal Clinic, the Tech Startup Clinic, Fashion Law Practicum put students in business. Our students build connections to become outstanding lawyers.

The Perlmutter Center for Legal Justice at Cardozo Law is designed to teach lawyers how to use science in court cases, and to identify and correct the harsh reality of misused scientific evidence in the justice system. It has two parts: The Perlmutter Freedom Clinic at Cardozo Law works on overturning cases for incarcerated individuals who were prosecuted using poor scientific evidence; and The Perlmutter Forensic Science Education Program, which is an ambitious continuing legal education curriculum in scientific evidence designed for practicing attorneys. Cardozo is a pioneer in scientific evidence, building on e decades-long success of Cardozo’s Forensic Science College.
