Estimated Cost of Attendance
The estimated student budget allows for a simple graduate student lifestyle. This budget determines the total amount of aid (loans, grants, scholarships and resources) that a student may receive in an academic year.
*Students who reside in The Benjamin (Cardozo's residence hall) will have the "Room" portion of their financial aid budget automatically increased to match the proper rate for the current academic year. Students who do not reside in The Benjamin may have their "Room" or any other estimated budget item within the annual Cost of Attendance reviewed for an increase through our Budget Adjustment Process.
**Federal Loan Program Fees are included in the budget when applicable.
Please Note: The budget for entering students in the "J.D. May-Entry Program" is based on summer/fall/spring enrollment. Expense budget total: $34,636.
Items Not Covered In The Student Budget
Federal regulations mandate that a student budget include only expenses directly related to the cost of education during periods of active enrollment.
Students who have legitimate educationally related expenses that exceed the academic year Cost of Attendance budget should visit Cardozo's Budget Adjustment Process and Worksheet webpage.

Students applying for need-based grant assistance from Cardozo and/or federal loans must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Cardozo's Title IV code number for the FAFSA is listed under Yeshiva University: 002903. You may file the FAFSA as early as October 1st online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Please note: If you are claimed as a dependent on your parents' tax returns, you must complete the parental information section of the FAFSA or submit a signed copy of the parental tax return in order to be considered for institutional need-based assistance.
Do not wait for acceptance to the Law School to apply for financial assistance. Students submitting forms that arrive in the Office of Student Finance later than the appropriate deadline date risk being considered for financial aid after those who submit all required documents on time.
Cardozo's Office of Student Finance reviews financial aid applications and notifies admitted students of their need-based award eligibility on a rolling basis.
International J.D. students, who are not U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents (green card holders), are ineligible to receive U.S. federal financial aid through the FAFSA. These students may file Cardozo's annual International J.D. FInancial Aid Application in order to determine eligibility for Cardozo's institutional need-based aid. Please click HERE in order to complete the 2018-2019 application.
We strongly recommend that you submit your FAFSA or International J.D. Financial Aid Application no later than:
- December 1 for Spring '19 entry (2018-2019 FAFSA form)
