
This year's Reunion offerings, held over four days, included a distinguished lecture series, Broadway events and a reception with Dean Melanie Leslie ’91.
On November 14, Cardozo alumni from class years ending in 2, 3, 7 and 8 reunited, reconnected and reminisced at Cardozo Reunion: Homecoming 2022. This year was especially significant as it was the first in-person Reunion since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The presenting sponsor was Seeger Weiss LLP and the bronze sponsors were Cole Schotz P.C., Marc Lieberstein '92 and Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP, and Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Breitstone, LLP.
Dean Leslie, welcomed alumni back to campus on Monday at the Annual Alumni Association Meeting: RISE UP for Cardozo. The Dean spoke about the Rise Up for Cardozo campaign, which has a goal of raising $50 million for the law school in honor of its 50th anniversary in 2026.
Tuesday began with the first of the three distinguished lectures. Professor of Law and Faculty Director of Cardozo Data Law Initiative Felix Wu spoke about “The MetaBirkins Case and Trademarks in the Metaverse.” Attendees also had the opportunity to see Moulin Rouge on Broadway or participate in a virtual trivia night.
On Wednesday, Professor of Law and Co-Director of the Floersheimer Center for Constitutional Democracy Kate Shaw gave the second distinguished lecture on “The Supreme Court’s 2022 Term” and alumni attended a virtual evening with Broadway stars from Wicked. Actresses Hayley Podschun, who plays Glinda, and Jennifer Dinoia, who plays Elphaba, answered behind-the-scenes questions and performed two songs from the hit musical.
On the final day of Reunion, Annie and Morris Trachman Professor of Law Edward Zelinsky closed out the distinguished lecture series with “Taxing Interstate Remote Work After Covid: Zelinsky on Zelinsky.” Finally, alumni joined Dean Leslie at City Winery New York for the Dean’s Cocktail Party with an open bar, food and music from the Cool Rulers.
