J.D.-MBA Overview
Professional success today requires more than just expertise in one field. It demands a diverse skill set, a comprehensive understanding of business dynamics, and legal acumen. Our comprehensive dual degree program will provide you with the knowledge, skills and legal expertise of a law degree plus the expertise in management, and marketing derived from an MBA. Equipped with this diverse skill set, our graduates emerge as versatile professionals with the legal and business leadership skills ready to succeed at the highest levels.
Program Requirements
Candidates for the joint degree program must apply to and be admitted by each school separately. Admission to one school does not guarantee admission to the other, although it may be a factor in strengthening the application.
Admission to the J.D.-MBA program will be open only to current Cardozo Students. Interested students can apply for the dual degree program and admission to Syms after their 1L year and at any time until the end of their 3L fall semester. Cardozo students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.100 to apply.

Major course requirements: Course requirements for the JD program will remain the same as the standard JD program. 12 credits in select JD classes will be transferable to the MBA program. To complete their JD degree, students must complete 84 credits and take the entire first-year curriculum, Professional Responsibility, and satisfy Cardozo’s core course, race and the law, writing credit, skills credits, and ALR requirements.
