Jacob Burns Moot Court Room
Join the Burns Center for a conversation on the Supreme Court with Adam Liptak, who is considered one of the most highly regarded legal affairs journalists in the country. He will be joined by two distinguished Cardozo law professors, Jessica Roth and Alexander Reinert. They will discuss current ethical issues surrounding the court, challenges to the court's legitimacy and upcoming and recently decided cases on issues such as abortion rights, gun regulations, same sex marriage and more.
Adam Liptak is the Supreme Court correspondent for the New York Times. Liptak has written about Constitutional issues for the New Yorker, Vanity Fair and Rolling Stone Magazine, and others in addition to the New York Times. He was a Pulitzer Prize finalist for Explanatory Journalism for a series that examined the American Legal System and has been a guest lecturer at Cardozo and participated in numerous panels on major Constitutional Issues.
Professor Jessica Roth is Co-Director of the Jacob Burns Center for Ethics in the Practice of Law. Previously she was a federal prosecutor in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. She is a frequent legal affairs analyst on CNN, PBS, Bloomberg News and many other media outlets.
Professor Alexander Reinert is the Director of the Center for Rights and Justice. He has worked on behalf of people confined in prisons and jail for more than 20 years, arguing cases at every level of the federal judicial system, including the Supreme Court. He was a law clerk for former Supreme Court Justice Stephen G. Breyer
