Stop Asian Hate: Time for Facts, Not Fear
https://cardozo.yu.edu/events/stop-asian-hate-time-facts-not-fearApr 26, 2021The BALLSA Alumni Group and the Office of Diversity & Inclusion invite you to join a discussion that will address what we need to do to stop this virus called RACISM. Since Donald Trump called COVID-19 the "China virus" and the "Kung Fu" virus, hate crimes against Asian Americans have increased by 150%. More than 3,800 cases have been reported since March of 2020. Asian Americans have historically been silenced or held as "model immigrants." The discrimination they face has often been erased from American history. This must stop. The discussion will focus on the historical facts of Asian American discrimination in light of the current wave of anti-Asian American hate crimes. Speakers: Katherine J. Hwang '09 The Law Firm of Katherine J. Hwang Hana Kim Attorney, NYC Commission on Human Rights Moderator: Bobby Codjoe Director of Diversity & Inclusion, Cardozo School of Law Register Here
