Summer Stipend Mandatory Meeting #2 & PILC Fair 101

    https://cardozo.yu.edu/events/summer-stipend-mandatory-meeting-2-pilc-fair-101
    Nov 18, 2022

Cardozo offers a stipend for students working in unpaid legal internships in public service during the summer. If you think you will need funding to work at a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, government agency, or judicial chambers, or IF YOU ARE UNCERTAIN where you will intern next summer, you should attend one of these meetings to learn about the stipend and the requirements to receive it. You do not have to have an internship lined up to attend the meeting and apply for the stipend. To be eligible for the stipend, attendance is required at one of the three times this meeting is being held, and there are no exceptions. Each meeting will be held in a hybrid format, so you can either attend in person at the room indicated, or login remotely. If you plan to login remotely, please note that you will be required to have your screen on, so you should plan to be in a space that will permit you to do so. Attendance will be taken at the end of the mandatory part of the program.  Also, learn how to register and navigate the website for the Public Interest Legal Career (PILC) Fair, held annually at NYC in order to maximize your opportunities for summer internships or post-graduate employment in the public sector. Even if you participated in Cardozo's Public Service Summer Stipend in Summer 2022, you are still required to attend this meeting to be eligible to receive the stipend in Summer 2023.

  • FAQS
    Q

    How does payment work?

    A

Cardozo students studying abroad in one of our exchange programs stay enrolled at Cardozo, pay tuition and fees to Cardozo, and receive all scholarship and grants as awarded to them in other semesters. Students do not pay tuition to the host institution, although there may be nominal student fees required. All visa, airfare, and living expenses are the responsibility of the student but students may speak with the Office of Student Finance to see if there is additional Federal financial aid available to cover some of these additional travel costs for study abroad.

For students who select an independent study abroad, they must take a leave of absence, so any Cardozo scholarships or grants do not apply during that semester abroad. Students pay the host institution directly rather than Cardozo for tuition and fees for that semester abroad.
