
On November 12, 2023, the Cardozo ADR Competition Honor Society hosted its Second Annual Cardozo Invitational Negotiation on Entertainment, Media & the Arts (CINEMA). The competition simulates entertainment and intellectual property negotiations in which law students, acting as lawyers, manage a series of legal problems relating to real-life scenarios. The competition hosted 31 teams from law schools throughout the U.S. More than 70 entertainment and intellectual property lawyers participated as judges. Patrick J. Murphy, III (JAMS) was the final round judge.
ADR Honor Society members received top awards at the INADR Brenau Invitational Mediation Tournament. Myles Ganther '25, Dilaris Sharipov '25, Kevin Weisman '25 placed second for Best Mediator Team, and Sharipov was also awarded 2nd Place for Best Individual Mediator. The team was also awarded sixth place for best advocate and client pair. ADR Honor Society members also competed in the Bucerius Mediation Competition by BODENHEIMER, and Zachary Feinstein '25, Olivia Fortunato '24, Kate O'Neill '25 proceeded to the semi-final round of the competition.
During the fall semester, the ADR Honor Society members also competed in the Thomas Jefferson School of Law National Sports Law Negotiation Competition, the ABA Arbitration Competition Regionals, and at the ABA Law Student Division Negotiation Competition Regionals.
The society is led by Editor-in-Chief Diana Miller, Managing Editor, Meghan Bishop, Executive Editors Sabrina Clifford and Lisa Mordkovich, and Problem Editors Judzia Bryant and Sydney Clarke.
