Cardozo Law School is pleased to announce that Kekelly Ketemepi has been selected as the 2020 recipient of the Mark Whitlock Scholarship.
The Whitlock Scholarship was established by the friends and family of Mark Whitlock '10, who passed away from brain cancer while a student at Cardozo. Mark's family sought to celebrate Mark’s joyous spirit and vitality by creating this scholarship. It is designed to recognize an outstanding, third-year J.D. student each year who, through the force of individual effort, energy, spirit and initiative, contributes to and/or expands and strengthens student life and community at Cardozo.
Jennifer Kim, Dean of Students, said, "Kekelly clearly embodies the characteristics identified by the Scholarship, and has contributed significantly to the Cardozo community by serving as the Student Trustee of the SBA, the Fundraising Chair of BLSA, serving as a Student Ambassador of the New York City Bar Association, and serving as the Pre-Law Director of the National Black Law Students Association. She has also worked as an ambassador for Cardozo's Admissions office and served as the Associate Editor of Cardozo Arts and Entertainment Law Journal. Kekelly has continuously gone above and beyond in her commitment to improving student life at Cardozo, and, as one of her nominator states, 'has been a voice for students and has successfully represented student interests at all levels of the administration.'"
