Last week, New York State issued new guidelines for live graduation ceremonies, which enabled Yeshiva University to determine that Cardozo School of Law can hold a live in-person commencement.
Commencement will take place live and in-person in New York City. We will not hold the virtual event that we had originally planned. Instead, we will hold the in-person ceremony at a wonderful outdoor venue. Commencement will take place as originally scheduled on Tuesday, June 1. We know that many of you wish to make plans for this and we're making every effort to finalize the details as soon as possible and get you the specifics in the coming days.
We know that some graduates will not be able to attend or will not feel comfortable attending. Therefore, we plan to livestream the entire event so that graduates and their loved ones can participate in this joyous day wherever they are located.
Due to the restrictions the State has put in place, this ceremony will look very different than our usual commencement. All attendees will be required to submit proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours of the start of the event. Social distancing will be enforced at all times, and each graduate will be permitted to invite a maximum of 2 guests.
