This January, Cardozo students interested in dispute resolution (DR) participated in comprehensive simulation courses and strengthened their advocacy skills, all under the supervision of world-class faculty and top practitioners.
The classes available to students included Collaborative Family Law, IMAP: Intensive Mediation Advocacy Program, Interviewing and Counselling, and Representation in Arbitration. This year, over 50 students participated in the DR winter intensives.
“Our intensive DR courses offer students the unique opportunity to get skills training in interviewing and counseling, mediation advocacy, arbitration advocacy, and collaborative law,” said Andrea Schneider, Professor of Law and Director of the Kukin Program for Conflict Resolution. “Students learn from experienced professors and practitioners, engage in simulations, and receive real time feedback designed to enhance and improve counseling and advocacy skills.”
Cardozo’s DR program is only one of two in the country to receive an A+ by prelaw Magazine and is ranked #5 by U.S. News and World Report.
