On Monday, October 7th, the students in the Bet Tzedek Civil Litigation Clinic held an Advanced Directives Pop-Up Clinic for constituents from New York State Assemblyman Al Taylor’s Northern Manhattan district. The Pop-Up Clinic was held in the senior center at Dr. Muriel Petioni Plaza on West 146th Street. Second year law students Tiffany Cheung and Tyler Dixon gave power point presentations on Health Care Proxies and Powers of Attorney, respectively, followed by a Q and A with the audience. The Bet Tzedek students then counseled and assisted the participants with the drafting and execution of their own advanced directives. Approximately 25 community members attended the Pop-Up Clinic. "The Pop-Up Clinic provided the community members with a critically important legal service and the community members provided the Bet Tzedek students with an invaluable learning and lawyering experience," said clinic director Leslie Salzman.
