The Moot Court Honor Society will be hosting Cardozo’s Intraschool Moot Court competition, the Monrad G. Paulsen Competition, on November 14, 15 and 16. This competition is open to all 2L and 3L students at Cardozo. Those interested can sign up here for the competition.
The Monrad G. Paulsen competition is named after Cardozo’s first Dean and covers current constitutional issues. This competition is a great way to further develop oral advocacy and brief writing skills! In addition, participates earn one (1) credit and have the opportunity to earn cash prizes and the possibility to be invited to join Moot Court. Students may join the Moot Court Honor Society even if they are already on a journal.
There are three (3) requirements for each competitor to successfully complete the Paulsen Competition (Failure to complete any of the requirements will result in a denial of credit):
1. Each competitor MUST prepare their own brief without assistance.
2. Each competitor MUST participate in the oral advocacy portion of the competition.
3. Each competitor MUST attend the final round on November 16th regardless of whether they are competing in the final round.
Any questions after the info session can be sent to PaulsenCompetition2023@gmail.com.
