Sarah B. Cohen is a Senior Staff Attorney at Appellate Advocates, where she represents clients in criminal appeals arising from convictions in Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. Her practice focuses primarily on appellate advocacy before the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division, Second Department, and the New York Court of Appeals.
Prior to joining Appellate Advocates, Sarah served as a trial attorney with the Defender Association of Philadelphia, where she represented clients in criminal proceedings at the trial court level. She also clerked for the Honorable Martha Vázquez in the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico.
Sarah holds a J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School, where she developed her commitment to public interest advocacy through clinical work with the Criminal Justice Institute and the Immigration and Refugee Clinical Program, as well as through work as a student attorney with the Harvard Defenders and Harvard Legal Assistance Project. She holds a B.A. in Philosophy with honors from Vassar College.
