As Assistant Dean of Externships & Field Clinics at Cardozo Law School, Robbi Smith oversees one of the largest field placement programs in the country and has taught an Advanced Legal Externship Seminar.  Previously a staff attorney at the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, she also served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Fordham Law School for many years, teaching a Judicial Externship Seminar to law students working in judges’ chambers.  Before joining Fordham’s adjunct faculty, Dean Smith was a staff attorney in the Pro Se Office of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, assisting the Court with numerous filings by self-represented litigants in cases involving prisoner civil rights and employment discrimination, among other claims.  A graduate of NYU Law School and Dartmouth College, she also clerked for federal judges in both the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
