Chauniqua is a partner in Outten & Golden LLP’s New York office and a member of the firm’s Class Action Practice Group. Ms. Young was associated with Outten & Golden from September 2014 to July 2017 and rejoined the firm in November 2018 following a fourteen-month clerkship with the Honorable Barbara Moses of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. She represents employees in discrimination and wage and hour class and collective actions.

Ms. Young received her B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College and her J.D. and Certificate in Dispute Resolution from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Upon graduating law school, Ms. Young received the E. Nathaniel Gates Commencement Award for her work as a student in the Cardozo Human Rights Clinic and as president of the Cardozo Black Law Students Association. Following graduation, Ms. Young was a Bertha Justice Fellow at the Center for Constitutional Rights where she litigated federal class action lawsuits on behalf of victims of discrimination, represented employees on workplace retaliation issues, and represented prisoners challenging procedural due process and First Amendment violations.  In 2014, Ms. Young was an honoree at the National Lawyers Guild New York City Chapter‘s 2014 spring event for her work on Floyd v. City of New York, No. 08 Civ. 1034 (S.D.N.Y.), one of the Center for Constitutional Rights’ cases. Before law school, Ms. Young worked in development at the East Bay Community Law Center in Berkeley, California.
