Would you be interested to learn how negotiation theory can resolve or prevent these cyber-terror attacks? If the answer to either of those questions is ‘yes,’ come join the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution on Friday for the 2022 Melnick Annual Symposium. The theme of this year’s Symposium is “Negotiation Strategies for War by Other Means,” where we will explore the changing landscape of international conflicts and the role that dispute resolution can play in preventing and improving cross-border discord.

    Secretary Jeh Johnson: Reflections on Today's Homeland SecurityThe Cardozo Law Review is pleased to welcome Secretary Jeh Johnson to reflect and analyze United States homeland security in today’s political environment.Jeh Johnson is the former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, serving from December 2013 to January 2017. As Secretary of Homeland Security, Johnson’s responsibilities included counterterrorism, cybersecurity, aviation security, border security, port security, maritime security, protection of our national leaders, the detection of chemical, biological and nuclear threats to the homeland, and response to natural disasters.Prior to becoming Secretary of Homeland Security, Johnson was appointed by President Obama to be General Counsel of the Department of Defense (2009-2012) and appointed by President Clinton to be General Counsel of the Department of the Air Force (1998-2001).     Brooklyn’s Baddest is a documentary in development that explores the consequences of the “war on drugs” and mass criminalization in New York City during the 1990s through present day, telling the stories of nearly 20 young men who were wrongfully convicted after investigations by the same police detective.   On February 26th we will be hosting an exclusive screening of never-before-seen clips from "Brooklyn's Baldest." We'll also be joined by exonerated New Yorkers for a conversation focused on criminal legal reform.

    Please join us for a guest lecture with the authors and co-founders of "Sneaker Law," Kenneth Anand and Jared Goldstein, who will provide an overview of the laws, litigation, and other disputes that have impacted the sneaker industry, as well as a practical primer of contractual terms that are heavily negotiated in most sneaker transactions.    Kenneth Anand is also the co-founder of 3 8 0 Group, a fashion licensing company specializing in the manufacturing and distribution of premium apparel, footwear, and fashion accessories. From 2017- 2019 Kenneth was General Counsel and Head of Business Development at YEEZY Apparel, Kanye West's sneaker and fashion house.   Jared Goldstein is also Legal Counsel at LiveIntent, an ad-tech and marketing company. Jared assists LiveIntent with all in-house legal matters, including advertising, technology, digital media, privacy and data protection, IP, compliance, and corporate issues.    This online event is approved for 1.0 transitional/non-transitional New York State CLE credits in the category “Areas of Professional Practice.” You must attend the “live” program in order to receive CLE credits.
