  • FAQS
    Q

Does Cardozo Law have an Early Decision program?

    A

Yes. The Binding Early Decision Program is designed for applicants who have researched their law school choices and have carefully considered their financial options and have decided that Cardozo is their top choice law school. While admissions criteria are the same as our regular decision program, The Binding Early Decision program allows applicants a means of expressing to the Admissions Committee their commitment to attend Cardozo if admitted. Early Decision applicants are given priority review and can apply for either the May-entry or Fall-entry term.

The Cardozo Scholars Binding Early Decision Program is a highly selective binding program designed for applicants with impressive achievements who have researched their law school choices and are certain that Cardozo Law is their top choice law school. The Admissions Committee will select up to five (5) Scholars each year, who will receive a full-tuition scholarship, guaranteed for three years.

  • FAQS
    Q

Do I need to have my law school transcript evaluated? If so, do you have a list of approved evaluation companies?

    A

If you earned academic credentials (e.g., degrees or transcripts) outside the United States, you may need a credential evaluation to translate your qualifications into U.S. equivalents for law school admissions, FAFSA eligibility, or professional licensure (e.g., bar admission). These evaluations ensure your foreign education is properly recognized by Cardozo’s admissions or financial aid office and other institutions. Choosing a reputable evaluation service is key to getting accurate, accepted reports. Below is a list of trusted transcript evaluation companies in the USA, along with tips to select the right one for your needs.

Here are five highly regarded credential evaluation services, all members of NACES or AICE, which are recognized by most U.S. law schools, including Cardozo, and trusted for their reliability, accuracy, and customer service:

    - World Education Services (WES)
    - Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE)
    - The Evaluation Company (TEC)
    - Academic and Professional International Evaluations, Inc. (APIE)
    - Josef Silny & Associates, Inc. International Education Consultants

Billie Holiday's Legacy Walks the Halls of 55 Fifth

    https://cardozo.yu.edu/events/billie-holidays-legacy-walks-halls-55-fifth
    Feb 22, 2021

Any time we walk through the 10th and 11th Floors of 55 Fifth Avenue, we walk through musical history. The legendary jazz great, Billie Holiday, recorded for the first time in the home of the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, formerly the location of Columbia Records. Join us for a fascinating review of the history of the Columbia and Sony recording studios in the 1930s, the discovery of Billie Holiday’s recordings at 55 Fifth Avenue and, most importantly, the life, cultural contributions, and enduring legacy of an extraordinary talent.
