Cardozo School of Law Dean Melanie Leslie and Scalia Law School Dean Ken Randall welcomed 90 attendees to the third annual Deans Leadership Academy on June 15-16.
The two-day, free admission event is intended for new and prospective deans interested in learning the basics of law school leadership. In addition to programming oversight from Deans Leslie and Randall, the academy features consultants who provide listeners with expert guidance on an array of valuable topics, including budgeting, financial forecasting, team management, fundraising and communicating with power.
This year’s attendees heard from a group of esteemed and experienced presenters on several topics ranging from financial management to leading direct reports.
“It truly is an honor to partner with Ken Randall to host the Deans Leadership Academy each year,” Leslie said. “I want to say thank you to the wonderful consultants who presented at this year’s academy (Stephanie Cox, Kathleen Friery, Bronte Jones, Ephraim Schachter and Amy Sugin). What a great turnout! Thanks for helping to launch successful deanships.”
