Jacob Burns Moot Court Room, Cardozo School of Law
This gathering celebrates an exciting new collaboration between the University of Bristol Law School, a leading institution in the United Kingdom, and Cardozo School of Law. Professor Sarah Green will guide us through the rapidly shifting world of crypto currency and digital assets, offering insights from her experiences as Law Commissioner for Common and Commercial Law at the Law Commission of England and Wales (2020–2024). We will also be joined by alumni and professors of University of Bristol Law School.
During her time as Law Commissioner, Professor Green's law reform work included the Electronic Trade Documents Act 2023, Advice to Government on Smart Contracts, updating the Arbitration Act 1996, and more. She is currently the Head of Digital Assets and Trade Finance at D2 Legal Technology, Professor of Private Law at the University of Bristol, and a member of T3i Partner Network. She was previously Professor of the Law of Obligations at the University of Oxford and a software consultant at Accenture. Professor Green has written books and articles on subjects such as blockchain, smart contracts, digital assets, and intermediated securities, and her work has been cited extensively in Parliament, across several jurisdictions in appellate courts, and in the U.S. Congress.
Drinks and canapés will be served following the talk, offering you the opportunity to meet and connect with fellow Cardozo alumni as well as alumni and academics from Bristol Law School.
