646-592-6416S. Ellie Norton is a Clinical Teaching Fellow in the Immigration Justice Clinic. Prior to joining the Cardozo faculty, she was a Senior Practitioner in Residence at Seton Hall Law School’s Immigrants’ Rights/International Human Rights Clinic, where she represented detained immigrants facing deportation as part of New Jersey’s state-funded Detention and Deportation Defense Initiative. Before this, Ellie obtained an MPhil in Socio-Legal Research from the University of Oxford, also serving as a researcher and advisor for the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights. She began her career as a litigation/international arbitration associate at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, where she worked in the New York and Paris offices from 2013 to 2018 and had a significant pro bono immigration practice. Ellie graduated with honors from the University of Chicago Law School, where she was Articles Editor for the Chicago Journal of International Law.
