Aviva Orenstein will teach Evidence, her favorite class to teach. She holds the Karen Lake Buttrey and Donald W. Buttrey Chair at Indiana University Maurer School of Law, where she has taught since 1992. Orenstein has visited at Cardozo on several occasions and is looking forward to her return. Her area of research is the intersection of evidence law and culture, with a focus on feminist critique. She is the author of numerous scholarly articles and student aids, including Acing Evidence. She has also published a novel, Fat Chance. Orenstein is a grandmother of eight. She speaks Hebrew fluently and is currently learning German to enhance her visits to Hamburg where two of her grandchildren reside.
