Alumni have reading privileges in the library. Cardozo alumni should contact the Office of Alumni Affairs at cardozoalumni@yu.edu to get approval for building access. Requests should be made in advance of the visit, as same-day access may not be permitted.
Additional information for alumni may be found on the Alumni page.
Alumni have access to in-library use of books, the school’s guest Wi-Fi, and to some of the library’s digital resources. Alumni may not check out books, request items via interlibrary loan, or obtain access to Cardozo’s Lexis, Westlaw, and Bloomberg Law accounts. Alumni also have access to LARC, the Lillian & Rebecca Chutick Scholarly Repository and Institutional Archives. Alumni do not have access to printers.
Alumni do not have off-site access to any of the commercial databases available at the Cardozo Law School Library. Additionally, due to University IT security policies, on-site access to commercial databases that permit University-wide access is limited to alumni who bring and use their own personal devices and connect through YU-Visitor Wi-Fi. Some digital resources provided by Yeshiva University libraries are available off-site via their Library Services for Alumni page.
The staff of the library views its patrons as professionals. In turn, patrons are expected to conduct themselves as professionals. This expectation extends to a thorough knowledge of all library policies, compliance with said policies, and a general civil deportment towards library staff and fellow patrons.
