“This is a really exciting time to be at Cardozo because over the last eight years we've accomplished great things together. We have set records in terms of our career placement. We continue to attract amazing, passionate, creative students, and our faculty reputation grows with each successive year. We are really at an inflection point. If our alumni all come together, there's really no limit to what we can accomplish. We're at a moment where we're poised to increase the reputation of Cardozo nationally.”

- Melanie Leslie, ’91, Dean, Cardozo School of Law, and Dr. Samuel Belkin Professor of Law

Testimonials

We are proud to support Cardozo Law’s Filmmakers Legal Clinic, where artists have access to resources to protect their intellectual property and artistry. It’s an innovative approach that not only supports tomorrow’s artists but educates future lawyers on what artists’ legal needs are. Whenever our Miranda Family Fellows need legal advice, education, and training, we turn to this program.

Cardozo has been a cornerstone of professional and personal growth, shaping my trajectory as a legal professional and fostering lifelong connections. As a former student, I cherished the vibrant intellectual community and the nurturing environment that propelled my career. Giving back as an adjunct professor, volunteer and donor allows me to pay forward the transformative experiences and opportunities that have enriched my journey, and to perpetuate the joy of learning and giving within the Cardozo family.

We have been longtime supporters of Cardozo School of Law because it provides an excellent education and access to legal services to those who might otherwise be unable to receive them. We are especially proud of our support for the Filmmaker's Legal Clinic at Cardozo, which provides free legal services to filmmakers producing independent, documentary, and student films and to artists providing services in independent and documentary film. The clinic fills a previously underserved and vitally important niche in New York City’s film and arts community: the need for a free or low-cost legal services clinic for independent filmmakers in the greater New York City area who would have difficulty obtaining affordable legal services.

Cardozo will always be an extension of our family. We are forever grateful to the professors who trained and mentored us, Cardozo's commitment to diversity, the friends and colleagues that we met at Cardozo, and the incredible experiential learning opportunities, each of which shaped who we are today.

Cardozo was great to me. In addition to an incredible education from the best professors in the country, Cardozo not only helped me secure my first job, but is also where I met my wife! It has therefore been easy for me — and a true pleasure — to do my small part in helping other students for generations to come obtain a similar experience. The sense of community at Cardozo is second to none; the best part is it does not end after you graduate, but continues for your entire professional career no matter what it is you decide to do.

Studying at Cardozo was an incredibly rewarding experience as it provided me with a strong foundation in legal principles within an environment that values and supports critical thinking and creativity. The exposure to interdisciplinary perspectives and the emphasis on practical skills honed my ability to analyze complex business transactions, negotiate effectively, and navigate the intricacies of corporate law. I give back to Cardozo because I believe in supporting the institution and faculty that played a pivotal role in shaping my legal education and career, and I want to contribute to its ongoing success and the opportunities it provides to future students.

I give back to invest in future generations of Cardozo students just how others generously did for me and my peers. As a student, I learned the value of a Cardozo education having been surrounded by excellent faculty who fundamentally shaped the way I think and molded me into the lawyer I am today.
