The Office of Career Services works closely with employers and professional organizations to cultivate dynamic approaches to exploring and providing access to career opportunities to meet the needs of our diverse student body.  As part of that effort, OCS develops and implements career programming that taps into the vast resources that are available to students and alumni of all backgrounds.  We conduct extensive outreach to identify opportunities of particular interest and provide hands-on guidance on the best strategies for taking advantage of these opportunities.  By collaborating with our students and alumni, our goal is to help shape career paths that they will find rewarding and fulfilling.

Please contact Sherry-Ann Smith-Gomez in the Office of Career Services at snsmith@yu.edu if you have questions.

Affinity Bar Associations

An affinity bar association is a professional organization of lawyers of diverse backgrounds.  This includes, but is not limited to, race or ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, religious affiliation, or veteran status.

We encourage law students to join bar associations to benefit from attending the programs and events that these organizations offer, as well as the opportunity to meet and talk to member attorneys, and learn more about the various areas of law that they may be considering.

Here is a listing of national and local affinity bar associations to review and consider joining.
