Mission Statement

Parents are integral members of our Cardozo community. Historically, parents have played an important role in the life of the law school. The Parents Council was established to deepen the ways in which parents can become more active members of the law school.

The Parents Council is a network of parents who are committed to the well-being and advancement of Cardozo. The Council works to foster, promote and sustain the involvement of parents in efforts that shall enhance the academic, professional and financial standing of the law school; and to serve as a resource for those who recognize the vital role of the parent community, and wish to work on its behalf.

The Parents Council provides support to Cardozo in numerous ways, including:

  • Serves as ambassadors of the Law School
  • Assists in mentoring students
  • Lends talent and professional expertise to students and faculty, programs and initiatives
  • Acts as a resource and the liaison for parent opinions, concerns and feedback on all topics
  • Encourages other parents to support, participate and volunteer

A Note from Cardozo Parents Council Chair

Dear Fellow Cardozo Parent,

As a father of a Cardozo graduate, and as an alumnus myself, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Cardozo Parents Council. Cardozo is a unique and special place in the world of legal education. It is a superb law school. It is also very much a group that warmly welcomes parents to be part of the larger community of alumni and friends.

As valued members of our extended Cardozo family, the Parents Council plays a vital role as ambassadors who are committed to the well-being and advancement of Cardozo. We endeavor to answer your questions about the law school experience and to plan events that further parent participation in our extended Cardozo family. As chair of the Parents Council, I warmly invite you to become involved and to participate in the array of lectures, conferences and receptions that we host throughout the year.

Your student has begun a wonderful journey toward a professional career. Congratulations to you on all the achievements that led to this point.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
