To use Zipcars, simply register as a member, reserve a car online or by phone, use your Zipcard to enter the car, and drive away. When you’re done, return the car to the same location where you picked it up.

Local Attractions

New York City does not have to be as expensive as students think. Many local attractions offer discounted tickets to students with valid student ID's. You can tour a garden, visit a museum, or catch a performance for a fraction of the cost of the regular admission. Just remember to bring your student ID!

For an interactive map that lists every street-level establishment in Manhattan (plus more from the other 4 boroughs), visit The map lets you view an establishment's address, phone number, special deals, social media updates, reviews, general information (such as menus, show times, rates, etc.) and much more. You can also take it with you on the go by downloading their free app from the App Store (search NYC map).


NYC Arts - Alliance for the Arts lists student discounts offered in the 5 boroughs. Select from a variety of categories including: Architecture and Design, Cabaret, Dance, Film, Off Broadway, zoos, and many more.


NYC- The Official Guide generates a weekly list of free events around the 5 boroughs.They also have a special offers section that highlights different discounts.

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden offers discounted student tickets for $4. Admission on Tuesdays and Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. are free.
The New York Botanical Garden offers $3 Grounds-Only Admission to students. On Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. -12 p.m. and all day on Wednesdays, Grounds admission is free to everyone.


American Museum of Natural History has discounted student tickets for $12.

Brooklyn Museum offers discounted student admission for $6.

Guggenheim Museum has discounted student tickets for $15. On Saturday evenings from 5:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. they have 'pay-what-you-wish' admission.

Jewish Museum offers student tickets for $7.50. On Saturdays from 11 a.m. - 5:45 p.m. admission is free.

Metropolitan Museum of Art offers student pricing of $10.

Museum of Arts and Design has discounted student tickets for $12. On Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. they have 'pay-what-you-wish' admission.

Museum of Jewish Heritage has discounted student tickets for $7.

Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) has student tickets for $12.

Museum of the Moving Image offers discounted student tickets for $7.50.

Rubin Museum of Art: Art of the Himalayas has student admission for only $5, with free gallery admission for all on Friday evenings from 6 p.m. - 10 p.m.

South Street Seaport Museum has student tickets for $12.


Carnegie Hall offers $10 student rush tickets to select events. Eligible concerts are announced weekly throughout the season. You can sign up to receive weekly $10 student rush ticket announcements at their website, Student rush tickets are available in person at the Carnegie Hall box office. If you are a current student subscriber, tickets may also be purchased online or by calling CarnegieCharge.

Hiptix offers $20 tickets to all Roundabout Theatre Company shows for anyone between the ages of 18-35. Membership is free and allows you to purchase tickets to the shows you want in advance. Plus, Hiptix members receive invitations to post-show parties and emails with exclusive videos and inside information about the latest productions and artists.

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts provides student discounts to a variety of performances including, The Film Society of Lincoln Center, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and Lincoln Center Theater.

Metropolitan Opera: The Met offers full-time college and graduate students age 29 and under discounted student tickets to select performances. New York City Ballet offers student rush tickets for select performances for only $15 each. Performance availability is posted weekly on Mondays and can be checked at their website or by calling the Student Rush Ticket Hotline at 212.870.7766. The New York Philharmonic allows students to purchase $12.50 rush tickets for select concerts up to 10 days before the concert at Concerts may also be available to purchase at the Avery Fisher Hall box office on the day of the performance.


Newsbar on University Place between 12th and 13th Streets is now offering a 10% discount on coffee and most food items. A current Cardozo ID must be shown.
Village East Cinema (2nd Avenue & 12th Street) has Student Tuesdays every Tuesday. Movies are only $7 and you also receive a free small popcorn with unlimited refills. Any valid Student ID is accepted.

Campus Clipper is an online coupon book with coupons that can be redeemed at places like Whole Foods Market, Subway, Cartridge World, and more.
