Professor Michel Rosenfeld, co-organizer of the upcoming colloquium "Citizenship, Religion, Identity" 

In Spring 2018, Cardozo School of Law and Columbia University Law School will host a colloquium on religious conflict. The first meeting on January 18 will be hosted at Columbia, the second will be hosted at Cardozo, and the location will alternate until the end of the semester. Cardozo Professor Michel Rosenfeld is organizing the colloquium along with Professor Jamal Greene of Columbia and Professor Susanna Mancini of Bologna University Law School.

December 4, 2017 - Attorney General Eric Schneiderman urged Cardozo law students to be part of the next great transformational movement in American politics. New York state’s top lawyer was the speaker at Cardozo’s first Learning from the Masters lecture series sponsored by The Benedict Morelli Trial Team Program, on December 4, 2017.

Professor Aaron Wright was quoted in an article on coindesk.com which detailed the discussion during “Structuring Legally Compliant Token Sales.” The panel event was organized by The Samuel and Ronnie Heyman Center and the Cardozo Tech Talk series.

Wright claims the courts will not separate the coin from the SAFT (Simple Agreement for Future Tokens). He said they will look at the whole process.

In a conversation with CoinDesk afterwards, he said, “That's the law.”

November 17, 2017 - Cardozo School of Law's business law program received an "A" grade in PreLaw Magazine, citing the school's concentrations in business law and in corporate compliance and risk control, the Samuel & Ronnie Heyman Center on Corporate Governance, the school's business-focused clinics such as the Securities Arbitration Clinic, and its student groups.

PreLaw Magazine gave Cardozo School of Law's tax law program an "A" grade, making it one out of three schools nationally to receive this top ranking. The magazine cited the school's tax law concentration, wealth of specialized courses, and faculty.

 Professor Edward Zelinsky’s new book “Taxing the Church” focuses on taxes and their impact on religious institutions. Professor Miranda Perry Fleischer of the University of San Diego, Professor Brian Galle of Georgetown University and Professor Daniel Hemel of the University of Chicago visited Cardozo and participated in a panel discussion about the book, moderated by Cardozo Professor Laura Cunningham.
