He discussed the capabilities of blockchain, including its use for smart contracts, and the potential for the technology to impact a range of industries, improve commercial activity, transform capital markets and democratize capital.

His talk was titled “Innovation, the State and Private Enterprise: A Corporate Lawyer’s Perspective.” It was attended by corporate law teachers from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, India and other Asian countries.

Wright said, “I think it may be the technology that brings all that learning that’s occurred over that 20 plus years to the mainstream. All those ideas for computational law, this is an application of that.”
