Professor Ekow Yankah spoke to Arise News about Meek Mill's release from prison and the plight that many people of color face when navigating the criminal justice system. Probation violations, sometimes seemingly minor, can often lead to consequences with tremendous effects.
Yankah said, "if your probation order is in perpetual limbo then there's always a way in which you're violating the order and that's the world Meeks had slipped into. But if he was less famous, nobody would notice."
