June 28, 2018 - Professor Kate Shaw spoke to Good Morning America about Justice Anthony Kennedy's retirement announcement, and specifically addressed the issues of gay rights and abortion.

"Justice Kennedy didn't just vote to uphold gay rights; he was the architect of the revolution under the constitution of gay rights under the equal protection clause," she said. In terms of the speculation that Roe vs. Wade could be overturned with a conservative majority on the court, Shaw said, "Just because you have the votes to overturn a prior case doesn’t necessarily mean that you use them."
