On August 22, 2017, Professor Jessica Roth trained prosecutors from around the country on ethical issues surrounding contacts with the media during public corruption investigations and trials, including how to balance the prosecutors’ duties to protect the rights of the accused and keep the public informed. The presentation grows out of Prof. Roth’s work as a Reporter for the American Bar Association's Criminal Justice Section, which included revising the ABA Standards on Fair Trial and Free Press issues in a new edition published in 2016. Professor Roth also wrote a chapter on a similar topic for the NAAG's Anticorruption Manual, which will be published in early 2018 and she will be making a similar presentation to an international audience at the ABA’s Annual London White Collar Crime Institute in London, England on Oct. 9, 2017.
