#MeToo and the Legal Profession, co-sponsored by Cardozo’s Jacob Burns Center for Ethics in the Practice of Law and Cardozo Women, brought the issues surrounding sexual harassment in the workplace, which have exploded in the media over the past year, to a more detailed legal analysis Tue
Cardozo’s FAME Center hosted “The Business of Luxury” panel Tuesday night, which included a panel of attorneys for major brand holding groups speaking about the legal issues facing their companies—issues such as licensing, IP asset sales, endeavoring to take national or regional brands “global,” and legal and regulatory challenges posed by utilizing social media as a means for marketing and promoting brands.
The event was co-sponsored by FAME and the Cardozo Law Alumni Association Fashion Law Group.
Panelists included Jay Dubiner, General Counsel, Authentic Brands Group; Michael Neuman, Corporate Counsel, Marquee Brands; Robert K. Smits, EVP, Secretary & General Counsel, Global Brands Group; and Lissa Bourjolly, VP & Associate General Counsel, Iconix Brand Group. Cardozo alumnus Rick Perkal ’81, CEO and Managing Partner, Firelight Capital Partners, LLC, served as the moderator.
