Trademark And IP Law Beyond Just 'What's A Good Name For My Restaurant?'

March 6, 2018 - Who in the business world is more entrepreneurial than a restaurant owner? Besides confronting every issue that any independent business owner must tackle, the restauranteur must also attend to variables like food preparation quality, for each and every customer, for every meal prepared.

Last night, I attended a program titled BYO Lawyer: Employment & Intellectual Property Issues in the Food & Restaurant Industry, a panel on the culture of the kitchen. The program was held at the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law’s FAME (Fashion Arts Media & Entertainment) Law Center in Manhattan. The lively panel discussion was led by Lee Sporn, who teaches law and was formerly the top lawyer to Michael Kors.
