Professor Garrie is a recognized leader in data governance, electronic discovery and cyber security. He is a sought after special master, neutral, and expert witness all over the United States and globally for some of the most complex and contested technology disputes. In addition to being the Managing Director at Law and Forensics, he is also the Head of the Worldwide Electronic Discovery Practice at New York-based Law Firm, Zeichner Ellman & Krause. Professor Garrie is often invited by Fortune 500 to provide board level education on cyber security and e-discovery.
Professor Garrie has testified as an e-discovery and computer forensic expert witness, and served as a forensic neutral in many State and Federal Courts and several arbitration organizations. He has authored expert reports in disputes involving millions, if not billions of dollars. Daniel’s expert consulting experience spans across litigations in a variety of fields of such as patent litigation, intellectual property theft, employment class actions, and trusts and estates.
Prior to these roles, Mr. Garrie built and sold several technology startups and served as the Worldwide Director of Electronic Discovery & Information Governance at Charles River Associates. Mr. Garrie is also on the advisory board for a number of different companies, including Get.it, Norse Corp, and Bounce Exchange.In addition to his law degree, Daniel holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Computer Science and is as comfortable talking to engineers and developers as he is with lawyers, and judges. His legal and computer science education and dispute resolution experience provide an unsurpassed level of understanding with regards to assisting clients.
