Aideen Byrne has joined Cardozo Law School as a full-time Visiting Clinical Instructor in the 'Environmental Justice and Indigenous Rights Fellow’ role within the Benjamin B. Ferencz Human Rights and Atrocity Prevention Clinic (HRAPC). Aideen also holds a secondary role as Associate Program Coordinator of the Cardozo Law Institute in Holocaust and Human Rights (CLIHHR).

Aideen’s award-winning work, leveraging her expertise in international law and clinical legal education to support marginalized communities around the globe and develop the next generation of lawyers, spans Dublin City University (Ireland), Edinburgh Law School (Scotland), and UNISINOS (Brazil). Aideen was a Visiting Research Scholar last year with CLIHHR and HRAPC.

Aideen holds a Law and Politics degree from Dublin City University and an LLM in International Law from Edinburgh Law School. Aideen intentionally brings her lived-experience of disability, childhood impoverishment, and homelessness to all she does. Aideen has dedicated significant time volunteering her expertise for various non-profits, including Lawyers Without Borders, the Lorna Byrne Children's Foundation, and Nichusak (the Lenape Centre’s MMIP crisis Working Group). When not lawyering, Aideen is an artist with a published children's book released in six countries and five languages.
