Ali Cain
Program Coordinator

Ali Cain is the Program Coordinator for the Cardozo Law Institute in Holocaust and Human Rights. Prior to joining CLIHHR, Ali served as a junior ambassador in Germany for the U.S State Department through the Congress Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals Program. She previously worked at her alma mater, Binghamton University, as an international careers consultant and graduated with a dual degree with honors in Political Science and History in 2016.

 

Faraz Sanei
Visiting Instructor of Clinical Law; Telford Taylor Teaching Fellow 

Faraz Sanei is a Visiting Instructor of Clinical Law and the Telford Taylor Teaching Fellow at the Benjamin B. Ferencz Human Rights and Atrocity Prevention Clinic. Prior to joining Cardozo he was the Director of the Project for Freedom of Religion or Belief at the Ralph Bunche Institute for International Studies (The Graduate Center, City University of New York) and a Legal Advisor to the UN Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief. From 2010 to 2015, Faraz served as the Iran and Gulf researcher with Human Rights Watch’s Middle East and North Africa division.

Atrocity Prevention Legal Training Project Director

Deena R. Hurwitz joined CLIHHR's APLT Project in August 2017. Prior to this, she was the founding Director of the International Human Rights Law Clinic at the University of Virginia School of Law (2003-2015), and Visiting Professor with the Human Rights Clinic at Washington College of Law (2015-2016). As a consultant, she has taught workshops on human rights and clinical legal education abroad. Before her career in legal education, she was a Program Director at the California-based Resource Center for Nonviolence.
