    Required Forms

    A

Submit Final Academic Transcripts and Dean's Certification Forms

    1.  Please forward to us an original, official final transcript from your degree granting college, indicating you received a degree. Please note the following do not satisfy our requirement: scanned transcripts we received from LSAC, unofficial transcripts, transcripts without notice of a bachelor’s degree awarded, faxed copies.

If your university issues electronic transcripts, please have it sent to cardozoadmit@yu.edu.

Otherwise, all original copies of official final transcripts may be mailed directly from your University Registrar’s Office to:

    Office of Admissions
    Cardozo School of Law
    55 Fifth Avenue, Room 1168
    NY, NY 10003

    2.  We require a completed Dean Certification form from each undergraduate and graduate school you attended for at least one academic year, full-time. The Dean’s Certification form can be completed by any administrator who has access to your student record; the administrator does not need to know you personally. We will also accept your college’s form in lieu of Cardozo’s. Dean’s forms can be mailed to the address above, faxed to us at 212.790.0482 or emailed to cardozoadmit@yu.edu.

Proof of Immunization – Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Meningococcal Vaccines

    3.  For all incoming students born on or after January 1, 1957, we require proof of immunization for measles, mumps and rubella. This is mandated by NYS. Students may be prohibited from attending classes without sufficient proof of immunization.

    4.  In addition, please submit proof of receipt of the meningococcal vaccine. The meningococcal vaccine must have been administered within the past 5 years; a student may inform us of her/his/their refusal to be vaccinated by acknowledging the risks and providing us with a signed Cardozo Law waiver.

Your doctor’s records, university health records, and proof of immunity via blood tests, are all acceptable forms. We will accept faxed records at 212.790.0482 or scanned copies at cardozoadmit@yu.edu.

Fall 2020 entering students should submit all required documents as soon as possible but no later than Thursday, August 1, 2020. Contact information is below.

    Regular mail:
Cardozo Law Office of Admissions, 55 Fifth Avenue, Room 1168, New York, New York, 10003.

    Fax:
    (212) 790-0482

    Email:
    cardozoadmit@yu.edu

    5.  Please complete the three Administrative Forms - emergency contact information, application rider, and student affirmation - that are needed for your student file. You may bring completed forms to Orientation or you may email them to us at cardozoadmit@yu.edu.

    Download forms here

Hard copies of the administrative forms will be available in the Office of Admissions, Room 1168, on the 11th floor.

Please contact us at cardozoadmit@yu.edu with any questions.

    Special Events for Admitted Students

    A

Cardozo is located in the heart of New York City--the legal and financial capital of the world.  You may visit anytime; however, we encourage you to attend one of the events we have scheduled just for admitted students.

Registration for the events will be available in the coming weeks. We look forward to seeing you in the spring.

    Admitted Students Days
Monday, February 17 (President's Day); Thursday, March 19; and Tuesday, April 7, 2020
    Comprehensive half-day events

These are our most comprehensive programs for admitted students. Highlights include:

    • Learn about the Cardozo experience from a panel of our faculty, who will also discuss the breadth of academic and clinical opportunities available to our students.
    • Meet Cardozo's Deans and senior members of the administration.
    • Enjoy a guided tour with current students.
    • Hear about Cardozo's career development and international opportunities.
    • Participate in a special class taught by one of our renowned professors.
    • Join faculty, current students, alumni, and senior administrators at a special reception in honor of you, a member of the Class of 2023.

    Mondays at Cardozo
    January 27 - March 30, 2020
    (excluding February 17, March 16)
Afternoon visits.  Contact us for details.

Mondays in the spring are reserved for admitted students. More informal than our larger events, they will afford you the opportunity to attend a first-year class, take a tour of the Law School with a current student, and meet with representatives from our offices of Career Services, Student Finance, and Admissions.

    National Events

In addition to the campus events above, we have scheduled receptions hosted by Cardozo alumni and the Office of Admissions in cities around the country. More information will be posted here soon.

    Travel Subsidies

We believe that visiting Cardozo can be extremely helpful as you make your decision to attend. If traveling to New York for one of our Admitted Students Days or our Sneak Peek presents a financial burden for you, please let us know. Our donors have made travel stipends available to make your visit more affordable. Contact us for details well before the date you wish to visit. Please review the Travel Stipend Policy at the bottom of this page.

  • FAQS
    Q

I have taken the GRE and not the LSAT. How do I apply?

    A

GRE scores may be used to apply to Cardozo where an applicant has not or does not plan to take the LSAT. Similar to our policy with LSAT scores, the Committee will consider GRE scores that are no older than 5 years from the date of entrance. Applicants must submit all valid GRE test results from the last five years. Applicants may not choose which results they will share.

We will only accept official GRE results sent directly from ETS. Cardozo’s GRE school code is 2696. To register for and get information about the GRE, please contact:

    Educational Testing Service
    GRE-ETS
    P.O. Box 6000
    Princeton, NJ 08541-6000
    USA
    Website: www.ets.org

Applicants taking the GRE must participate in the Credential Assembly Service (CAS) provided by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC). Through this service, Cardozo will automatically receive transcripts, letters of recommendation and any reportable LSAT scores. To provide consistent levels of information across both the LSAT and GRE, Cardozo requires all test results from the past five years. Applicants may not choose which results they will share.

Please be advised that since not all law schools are accepting the GRE, applicants who do not take the LSAT may be limiting the number of law schools who will consider them for admission as a first-year student this cycle or as a transfer student in the future.
