January 30, 2014 - Distinguished speakers who investigated, prosecuted, and defended Jordan Belfort and Stratton Oakmont, and other pump-and-dump cases in the '90s, met at Cardozo Law on January 29, 2014 for "The Wolf of Wall Street: Behind the  Scenes at Stratton Oakmont." Guests included Preet Bharara, U.S. Attorney, Southern District of New York; Steven Harbeck, President, Securities Investor Protection Corporation; Jonathan Henes, Partner, Kirkland & Ellis LLP; and Robert Khuzami, Partner, Kirkland & Ellis LLP.

Panelists spoke to a packed Jacob Burns Moot Court Room on how to protect investors from fraudulent schemes like the one associated with Stratton Oakmont, which was the subject of the movie The Wolf of Wall Street. They also gave details on how Jordan Belfort and others associated with the firm's scam were prosecuted.
