When it’s time for your reservation, go to the Circulation Desk to pick up the key. Beginning in the Fall 2016 semester, be on the lookout for the new Student IT Help Point in the Library. The Help Point will be staffed by student workers trained by ITS to help with your issues from YUWireless to computer troubleshooting and will be backed up by ITS staff members. Assistance will be provided via phone (212-790-0460) and email (email@example.com) as well as in person Monday - Thursday - 9am - 6pm, Friday - 9am - close (4pm, 5pm, or 6pm, depending on the month).

The Office of Career Services is using 8 of the study rooms on the 6th floor for on-campus interviews from August 3 through August 5. OCS is using 2 rooms for interviews on the morning of August 6.

At this time SofTest is not compatible with Windows 10. ExamSoft has blocked the download of SofTest for users using Windows 10, however it is still possible for those who already have SofTest installed to update their OS and attempt to take an exam on Windows 10.

The library follows its normal schedule on most days during spring break. The only departures from the regular operating hours follow: The library closes at 1 PM on Friday, April 3 and is closed on Sunday, April 5. The library closes at 5 PM on Thursday, April 9 and is closed on Friday, April 10.

Westlaw is requiring law school users to change our login passwords for WestlawNext. To change your password now, simply log in to Westlaw and click "update" next to your name in the upper left of the page, then click on "manage OnePass Profile" and enter a new password, re-enter it again, and click "save." You might find Bestlaw, a new browser extension, helpful. Right now it works only with Chrome and WestlawNext, but its creator, a law student at UC Berkeley, says that support for both Firefox and LexisAdvance is coming.

The law library begins its summer hours of operation on Sunday, May 18. Instead of closing at midnight, the library closes at 10 PM throughout the summer. The library (and building) will be closed on May 26, June 4 & 5, and July 4.

BEN, the library catalog and authentication server, will be taken offline at 3:45 PM on January 17. It will be put back online at some point, hopefully on January 20, after power is fully tested and restored to the law school building. While BEN is offine, there is no access to HeinOnline, JSTOR, or other electronic materials.

As of October 22 ExamSoft is not supporting Mavericks; the company currently is testing SofTest’s performance on this new OS for Macs. ExamSoft will make an announcement at some point in November about its ability to run on Mavericks for the December exams. Early adopters - stay tuned.

LA accounts can be extended through December if you apply for the extension before the end of June. In its Kirtsaeng v. Wiley decision this week, holding that the First Sale Doctrine applies to all non-pirated goods, the U.S. Supreme Court reversed the Second Circuit holding that the doctrine applied only to materials manufactured in the U.S. With this SCOTUS decision, libraries can keep lending books, and students can continue to buy and sell used books.
