6 p.m. - 8 p.m.: Program

There are approximately 1,500 multiemployer defined benefit pension plans in America covering over 10.1 million workers’ retirements, and special funding rules enacted by the Pension Protection Act of 2006 are set to expire at the end of the year. The sunset of these rules, combined with deficits in the Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation’s multiemployer plan insurance program, may spur Congress to enact legislation to safeguard these plans. Learn about proposals to solve the problems and their controversial components and hear from leading pension experts across all type of pension plans and discuss and debate the possible pitfalls and solutions.

Following the presentations, there will be an informal networking reception and refreshments will be served. Students and alumni are invited to participate.
