Jacqueline Tekyi
was a member of the litigation team that negotiated a $98 million discrimination suit against the New York City Fire Department. She is an associate at the firm of Levy Ratner, P.C., where she is involved in all aspects of the firm’s labor practice, representing unions and individual employees in arbitrations, litigations and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board and other administrative agencies.

Rachel M. Feinman (left) was elected Shareholder at the Tampa Bay law firm Hill Ward Henderson. Rachel practices in the firm’s Corporate & Tax Group. Her practice primarily focuses on general corporate advice and mergers and acquisitions, as well as corporate lending transactions. Jacqueline K. Seidel (right) has been promoted to partner at Reed Smith LLP in the firm’s New York office. Jacqueline is a member of the Life Sciences & Health Industry Group and has a broad range of experience in defending Fortune 500 companies in federal and state courts nationwide in complex class and mass actions. She has represented clients in a wide range of industries, including the automotive, medical device, pharmaceutical, insurance, reinsurance and media industries.

Jared Zola (left) was named a Rising Star by Law360, one of the top four young insurance attorneys recognized by the news service. Recently, he was tapped by private equity firm 3G Capital Partners Ltd. to chase coverage for shareholder suits that challenged a $28 billion acquisition of H.J. Heinz Co. Jared is a partner at Dickstein Shapiro LLP, where he is based in the firm’s New York and Stamford offices, and is the northeast regional leader for their Insurance Coverage Group and leads the Property & Business Interruption Practice.

Leslie Firtell
's staffing and managed-review company, Tower Legal Solutions, opened an office in Dallas, TX. This new office joins existing offices in Century City, CA, Charlotte, NC, and Minneapolis, MN. Tower helps clients reduce risk and control discovery costs while achieving project success during the management review process. Tower also offers foreign language review and translation services.

Mark A. Berman (left) was elected Vice-Chair of the Commercial and Federal Litigation Section of the New York State Bar Association for the 2014-2015 term. Mark will then lead the Section for New York in 2016-2017. He is currently the co-chair of the Section’s Social Media Committee and for the section's annual meeting, organized and moderated a panel on using interactive survey technology. Mark is a partner in Ganfer & Shore, LLP’s litigation practice groups as well as in the firm’s Cooperative and Condominium Housing Practice Group. He heads the firm’s E-Discovery Counseling practice. Additionally, Mark is an adjunct professor at Cardozo, teaching legal writing and analysis.

Jeff has successfully litigated many medical malpractice cases, as well as hundreds of general negligence cases. Jeff is president of the New York Criminal & Civil Courts Bar Association and is a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice.

Charles DeLaFuente had his book on libel law, Libel-Proof Your Writing, published. Based on his combination of legal knowledge and decades of newspaper editing experience, capped by 15 years at The New York Times, the book is designed primarily for journalists and lawyers who review articles before publication.

Peter Sills had his book, Toxic War: The Story of Agent Orange, published by Vanderbilt University Press. Peter first became involved in this issue when his firm represented Vietnam Veterans of America during a class action against the manufacturers of Agent Orange. He also assisted Congressman Ted Weiss in reviewing confidential White House documents showing how the Reagan Administration wanted to avoid helping American veterans exposed to military herbicides.
